Consulting advisory has a published hourly rate. AI and installation work is a fixed scope, quoted after we've seen what we're working with. Here's exactly how it works:
1. Consulting advisory is hourly, and published.
Infrastructure & Security Review $225/hr. You know the rate before the first conversation, and you're buying judgment by the hour — not a subscription. Fractional CIO/CTO and advisory retainers are quoted monthly against an agreed scope.
2. AI and install work is quoted per engagement.
AI work and network, A/V and low-voltage installations are quoted as a fixed scope: what's included, what it costs, and what would constitute a change order. We don't publish an AI rate card, because a tool-selection conversation and a video content project are wildly different sizes of work — and a small business shouldn't pay enterprise rates for either.
3. The quote comes after the look.
A strategy call, a working session, or a site walk comes first. Quoting a business — or a building — without seeing it is how technology projects go wrong, and we'd rather tell you the job is smaller than you thought than discover it halfway through.
4. In writing, before commitment.
Scope, rate, deliverable, terms. Agreed before work starts. No retainers that auto-escalate, no surprise renewals, no invoice creep.
5. We don't take vendor money.
No commissions, no referral kickbacks, no reseller margin dressed up as advice. You pay us, so our recommendation answers to you — including when it's "keep what you have."
